I picked up a search engine redirect a couple of days ago (a week?). Search results were normal but clicks would go to a variety of other commercially oriented search engines. It happened in IE7 and Firefox. I ran S&D, McAfee and Malwarebytes and Adaware at it. I deleted and reinstalled Firefox. I ran Windows Defender and Microsofts malicious software remover. And I cleaned my temp files. The hijacking was sporadic. I read some helps on the web. Installed Kaspersky and dumped McAfee, turned on Windows firewall (was using McAfee's FW). Finally, after about a week Kaspersky detected Win32.monder.cqbi in about 7 files. It was successful in getting rid of all but two which says it cannot delete (yeah I've run through the pop-up screen about a dozen or two times telling it manually to delete.) I probably should have jumped on here when the SE Hijacking started but I didn't I have run DDS and Hijack this, I will post the DDS files. I have Combofix on my desktop and was tempted but a little voice said, "don't be that stupid." So help, please. I'm not using my machine 'til I get this fixed. I have access to two others here. Did I say Please? Here;s the dds files.

Sorry, for missing this point but a couple of days ago I "updated" to IE 8, (hoping but to no avail) so that's what's loaded now.

Hello,

I need for you to go offline completely and disable ALL your protective programs after you download ComboFix, but before you run it. Sometimes those programs interfere with it, and we don't want that! :thumbup2:

This tool is not a toy. If used the wrong way you could trash your computer. Please use only under direction of a Helper. If you decide to do so anyway, please do not blame me or ComboFix.

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply please, along with a new HijackThis log.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Thanks,
tea
Please make a donation so I can keep helping people just like you.
Every little bit helps! :)
You can even use your credit card! Thank you!

seems to be fine. I haven't done too much as I was waiting for you to take a look. I did update the Kasp definitions and I have IE updates waiting to install but I deferred them for now (thought I'd wait until I uninstalled combofix to do much)

Hello,

That's good. :thumbup2: Go ahead and please delete ComboFix and its accompanying folder C:\Qoobox. Empty your Recycle bin and reboot your computer. Do your updating and let me know how that goes. :)
