reviewing KAV site I have determined that I have the win32Nasq.a virus. My desktop has changed to the Warning message..etc. etc. Kaspersky said to change the name on the wininet.dll file to wininet.dl and then a new file would reload. When I try this it tell me it can't rename because the file is in use.??
I ran Norton trial version Anti-virus software. It did find two infected files and I told it to delete them. I think I should have repaired the wininet.dll file! Now the desktop is still not back to normal. I do not come up with any new infected files on scans but don't think that virus software is updated. Trying to figure it out from my job and download what I can to take home to the old dail-up PC. Any advise would be appreciated

If you think you are infected submit a hijackthis log here.

How to submit a hijackthis log

Download Hijackthis

Try running Sysclean you'll also need the virus template file from here lpt***.zip run the scan in safe mode.

Locked Files Wizard may enable you to unlock the file mentioned and replace/delete it.
