Hi all. Can somebody help please. my all-in - one HP, will not install, Itried to install my PSC1410, due to HP games uninstalling deleted some of my printer software, I uninstalled all hp software and left overs I could find, defragged system, restarted then tried reinstall form a full driver package download from HP, my installation got to 5/8 of device install, then stopped. I got a red cross to say a problem but no reasons given. On desktop there was HP shop for supplies, photo essential and HP update, no other software was installed on desktop. Checked revo uninstaller, it showed other software there but not installed properly, what was missing was digital imaging and software solutions. I use vista home basic, returned to IE7 from IE8.

any help would be helpful. I will include a scan.

thanks for any help given.

When you try reinstalling your PSC are you using the original CD or did you download the updated installer from the HP website?

I am experiencing a similar problem myself. HP All-In-One 6310 - working fine until my tech came out to take care of sound issues, during which we had to open the case because the clip holding the drivers had popped up. Audio working fine now, but the printer doesn't 'talk' to the computer any longer.

I tried doing a driver install from the link at HP, but nothing new. I have located the original CD, and should we be using that? After I did the driver install, the printer had disappeared from the Printers and Faxes page. I installed what appeared to be the closest they had - HP 6300 series BT. Nothing. I am not sure which port I should point to - one person says psc, but what about LPT1?

During the original attempt to install drivers from the HP link, Time-Warner crashed, which wasn't very helpful! This morning, on boot-up, I was getting fatal error messages from the install link.

Any thoughts at all?

Uninstall everything associated with your HP printer. Reboot, and use the cd to reinstall. For the port, it should have a default port listed when you install. Use that port.

If you decide to download the software from HP, here is the link for your model:
