Hi..I have a DELL INSPIRON 600m LAPTOP that crashed and thru alot of trial and error, I reinstalled WINDOWS XP HOME and have it up and running good. Have been online and all is well EXCEPT i do not have sound (control panel/sounds & audio devices say "no audio device") and I can not watch any video. I went to Device Manager and under Sounds Video and Game Controllers it has "Audio Codecs" "Legacy Audio Drivers" "Legacy Video Capture Devices" "Media Control Devices" and "Video Codecs". When i right click on the audio drivers it says "This device is working properly" location unknown and under the Properties tab its blank...same on Video Drivers. During my search for help on XP Help & support it told me "No active Mixer Devices". i also checked to see if i could hear system sounds and the PLAY button wouldn't light up, so i couldn't click it, so no system sound. Also put music cd in and no sound. I went to "sounds & Audio Devices Properties" and on "Sound Playback" Default Device it says "No Playback Devices". unders Sound recording "No recording Devices" and under MIDI music playback" No MIDI playback devices
So I guess what i'm tryn to find out is...

1. Do i have Video and/or Audio drivers?
2. If so, how do i get them to work?
3. If not, what's my next step in gettin them?

Here's all my info: DELL INSPIRON 600m WINDOWS XP HOME 2002 SERVICE PACK 1.

I hope i gave u enough info...
