My computer was working fine, but about 3 hours ago it froze up and then had a continuous tone. I had just installed a windows update since it was automatic. I thought it was just a random thing but it occurred again about 20 minutes later. I tried system restoring to yesterday (before the update), but it has happened a few more times. I don't know what it could be. It's really annoying because it freezes without warning.

If someone can help me,

that would be great,

Thanks,

Chris

Is the tone coming from your speakers or from inside the computer's case?

it's a BIOS beep. i've had music on the times that it has frozen up and it sounds like a skipping cd. and then about 15-20 seconds after the initial freeze. the bios beep sounds. i have yet to let it go on beeping continuously for more than 10 seconds or so. After I reboot, it is as if nothing had happened. Really weird.
