Hello all,

I am experiencing a very odd issue with Internet Explorer.

First of all, I have Vista and IE 8, though this problem started with IE7.

Any time I click IE from my desktop or shortcut bar, IE opens to a blank white screen and there is a little magnifying glass in the lower left corner with the text "Connecting to xx.xx.xxx.xx". IE will remain on that page FOREVER!

BUT, if I close IE and re-open it, it works fine. If I open a new tab in IE 8, it will just go to a blank page and I cannot browse the Internet in the new tab. The same thing happens with pop-ups. If I click on a link on CNN.com and the article opens in another window (or tab) it never loads. It just has that magnifying glass and the "connecting" text at the bottom.

I didn't know if this was a problem with my machine or my wireless router. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now and it is driving me insane! Anytime I want to get on the Internet I have to open IE, close IE, then re-open IE. And if I want to view content from a popup, I have to right-click, copy shortcut, and paste in the IE tab that functions properly.

Can anyone help me or direct me in the right direction to correct this highly annoying error?

Thank you for your help in advance!
