I need help in completely removing the above. Garmanma recommended I post my HJT/DDS log (shown below):

Hello babyjo35,

Posted Image

I need for you to go offline completely and disable ALL your protective programs after you download ComboFix, but before you run it. Sometimes those programs interfere with it, and we don't want that! :thumbup2:

This tool is not a toy. If used the wrong way you could trash your computer. Please use only under direction of a Helper. If you decide to do so anyway, please do not blame me or ComboFix.

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply please, along with a new HijackThis log.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Please do this:
1. Download HijackThis™ here:
http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/th.../hijackthis.php

2. Click 'Do a System Scan and Save log'.
The HJT log will open in notepad.

Thanks,
tea
Please make a donation so I can keep helping people just like you.
Every little bit helps! :)
You can even use your credit card! Thank you!

I WILL BE BACK LATER TODAY OR TOMORROW AT THE LATEST TO CHECK IN AND SEE WHAT YOUR RECOMMEDATION IS FOR MY NEXT STEP.

P.S. I'M USING A FLASH DRIVE TO DOWNLOAD ANY PROGRAMS YOU RECOMMEND AND THEN RUNNING THEM.

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP.

Hello there,

One more download, and I'll try my best to only have you use what you already have on your own computer. :thumbup2:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from one of these places:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Ant...ware_d5756.html
http://www.besttechie.net/mbam/mbam-setup.exe

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

* Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
* The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
* The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
* Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Go to Start > Run and type cmd
A dos Window will appear.
Type next in the dos window: netsh winsock reset
hit enter.

REBOOT!!

Thanks,
tea

hey teacup,

No I can not access the internet. When I try to go to a site such as google it gives me the "can't display this webpage". I right clicked on the properties of the webpage and this is what is listed:

res://ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff.htm#http://www.google.com/

I had my internet provider help me before I started working with you and they took me through doing a flushdns and registerdns at the command prompt but that didn't work. They also provided me with the numeric ip address to yahoo and google website which pulled their web page up, though the pics didn't come up and I still couldn't go to any links from there.

Not sure if any of this means anything, I'm just trying to give you as much info. as possible.

Thanks and have a great day.

GOD Bless
Babyjo

Hello,

Can you please tell me how much before you came here you were not able to connect to the internet? :thumbup2: It might help with a resolution to know. How is it running otherwise?

Thanks,

Hi Teacup,

It's running pretty good, back to normal for the most part. If I'm thinking correctly I was able to to connect to the internet a couple of times after first starting my post in another thread on here, but haven't been able to since. I'm really not sure what happen.......with that trojan, different things started going down hill faily quick. Any suggestions, I would be greatful.

Thanks and GOD Bless

Hello,

Thanks for that. :thumbup2:

Try this:

Click on Start, Control Panel, select the Network and Internet Connections category or double click on Network Connections, depending on which View you are using. Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item. Write down the settings in case you should need to change them back. Select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically.
Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks. If it does not prompt you to reboot go ahead and reboot manually.

Let me know how you come out.

Hi Tea,

That didn't work. :thumbup2: There wasn't any pre-settings on the IP address and the DNS settings, the automatic boxes where already set. So I unselected them, then re-selected and rebooted. They are there when you ping though and I have a strong connection. It's just when you open the internet page and try to go anywhere is when all I get is the "web can not display". BTW, thinking about it now I should have checked with you first. I re-installed IE7, and that didn't help either. There isn't a place to uninstall, such as the control panel or through my CCleaner program.

As always, I sincerely appreciate you helping me. Next suggestion?

Thanks and God Bless
Babyjo

Hey Tea,

While at the library reading, I came across a topic about issues on installing IE and Window updates. It dawned on me that the SP3 never download correctly or successfully. I remembered in the past that I had tried uninstalling it and it kept getting errors on deleting certain files so I ended just cancelling it. Sooooo today I went through the uninstall process completely and just hit continued, rebooted and............I'm back in business!

As far as the trojan that you helped me remove, is there anything else that I need to do and do you think it's ok to do my bill pay online again as far as security issues?

Thanks so much for your help!! Hope it's not to hot in good ole Texas.

God Bless
Babyjo

Hello,

I do apologize......this somehow got past me, and I'm sorry. :) But I'm so glad you found the problem. :thumbup2:

If you haven't already, please delete ComboFix and its accompanying folder C:\Qoobox. Empty your Recycle bin and reboot your computer.

No AntiVirus as of the last logs you posted. AVG, Avira OR Avast are good FREE antivirus.

Below I have included a number of recommendations on how to protect your computer in order to prevent future malware infections. Please take these recommendations seriously! These few simple steps can stave off the vast majority of spyware problems.

You should definitely maintain a firewall. Some good free firewalls are Kerio, or Outpost. I use Comodo on my own system and really like it. http://comodo.com
A tutorial on understanding and using firewalls may be found here.

Regularly go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and download all the "critical updates" for Windows, including the latest version of Internet Explorer. This can patch many of the security holes through which attackers can gain access to your computer. You should also turn on the Windows automatic update feature.

In order to protect yourself against spyware, you should consider installing and running the following free programs:

SpywareBlaster

A tutorial on using Spybot to remove spyware from your computer may be found here. Please also remember to enable Spybot's "Immunize" and "TeaTimer" features.

Make sure to keep these programs up-to-date and to run them regularly, as this can prevent a great deal of spyware hassle.

* Avoid illegal sites, because that's where most malware is present.
* Don't click on links inside popups.
* Don't click on links in spam messages claiming to offer anti-spyware software; because most of these so called removers ARE spyware.
* Download free software only from sites you know and trust. A lot of free software can bundle other software, including spyware.

Please consider using an alternate browser. Mozilla's Firefox browser is fantastic; it is much more secure than Internet Explorer, and also has the best built-in popup blocker (as an added benefit!) that I have ever seen. If you are interested, Firefox may be downloaded from here:

Please make sure to run your antivirus software regularly, and to keep it up-to-date.
