Yesterday I got a bsod and when I tried to search for this problem all my pages through google and I.E. got redirected to home loan sites etc. I ran Spybot and it found nothing..ran Mcafee and came across 2 instances of NTOSKRNL-Hook (generic rootkit.d! root kit) which said it was removed. I think it is being reinstalled when I reboot because it keeps coming back. Also I cannot find any of my restore points and it won't let me go back before this month. Have found no driver problems. PLEASE HELP!

Try running a McAfee scan in Safe Mode.

I did run Mcafee and malwarebyte under safe. Mc said it had removed them but they were detected after I rebooted. I even turned system restore off and they still showed up. The files that showed up were 2 instances of NTOSKRNL-HOOK and 1 of windows\system32\hjgruiwkkyer.jk.dll. I aslo have spybot but it never detected either. I haven't spent much more time on the net so I haven't experienced anymore BSOD's but am on a friends comp now so I could check my account. I'm wondering if the files could be hiding in my minidump files.

Run a quick scan with Malwarebytes in normal mode and post the log.

Everything seems to be in working order..no more bsod (so far) and the browser redirects seem to have stopped. Firefox is still taking a while to open up to my homepage though. Thank you very much.
