Problems connecting to internet

hey there, im having problems connecting my computer to the internet. i recently got a new cable modem from my ISP. it came with a disc for installation, but when i put the disc in, it begins loading then stops and wont continue. i went into the disc and tried to manually start the setup program but nothing happens when i click...i need help please. thank you

A few more details would be helpful. Like, what's the brand/model of your new cable modem?
