I just the other day re-installed xp on my laptop. Ok the restore disks gave me this error so I decided to use the xp cd. Well it worked I now have nothing on my pc but the basics(no worries all my programs were saved to disk). Heres my problem I dont have a drivers cd! I cant connect to the internet to download them neither because I have no modem drivers and it wont auto detect anymore!!! What should I do?

What is the make and model of the laptop. Usually they have a driver pack available for each model. If nothing else, we can lookup the equipment for the model and find the drivers.

If you are online, you should be able to go to the manufacturer of the laptop's site and at least download the network driver to a cd or floppy and then get that working on the laptop. From there download the rest of the drivers on to your laptop

The network card driver ay fit onto a floppy. Go to the HP site and download it and see if it will fit on a floppy
