I am posting this for my 12 year old neighbor. He has a Toshiba L305D laptop. 3 days ago, the screen goes blank and his desk top and start up menu went away. I tried to contact Toshiba for him but they need the serial # from his laptop which he has peeled off the sticker and his mom and dad threw away the box it came in. I am wondering if it was just the computer crashed or if he is infected with a virus. He had the extra plan/virus protection with walmart but they also need the serial # and will not help him without it. Any suggestions or things I might try that will help will be greatly appreciated. He is adopted and his parents have both been affected by lay offs at their jobs. I know a little about computers so I think I can figure it out if I know in what direction to go. Thanks! Mommy25
