Hi, sorry if theres a topic about this already but I have to learn how to reformat my laptop from Vista Home Premium to Windows XP Home Professional. I have the XP on a disc and need to know how I can turn my laptop into a fully functional XP OS. Need to know steps from beginning to end, Thanks

during install, if drive not recognized, you may have to load drivers. do some research. there is lots more info out there. you can also save recovery files in vista to disk so that you can return to vista at a later time if you wish.

also check laptop manufacturers site for info on downgrading before you start

Thanks caper, never knew it was that complicated. I have the XP on the disc but now I read apparantly i need to 'slipstream' (?) drivers onto a disc? I have a HP pavillion dv2700tv but not sure which drivers i need. Or how to get them on the disc with the XP ISO image.
