Shortcuts to IE have randomly started appearing on the desktop and lead to nowhere! They are numbered. Computer running XP Pro. Not saving pages or links to favorites or anything like that. Where are these coming from??? Could certain types of webpages be automatically putting them on? Strange if so since they do nothing...they don't go to any webpage or anything. Thanks for any thoughts.

Might be malware. Do you have any active Anti-virus or anti-spyware software that you use to actively monitor your computer?
