Ok Running window XP home edition all updates current,using Webroot Spyware with anti-virus.

computer boots fine goes throught the windows splash screen the dialog box for my log on ID and passowrd never appears,no error codes or anything,just a dead stop.Same thing occurs in safe mode and also unable to get to command screen. I did get a error message once about a corrupte executable dll file.Any guesses ? or fixes thatnks

Do you have a Microsoft XP CD?

System manufacturer and model?

Have you checked your owner's manual for things you can possibly do to troubleshoot the system?

Next time you get an error message...you might want to write it down. It's the system's way of trying to tell you what is wrong...and (sometimes) how to fix it.
