Hello All :flowers:

Since a few days I have problem in watching the Divx video links

Well to be more specific any links apart from Megavideo and Zshare all of them crashes the browsers(IE 7 and 8 or FF 2.5 ) or they hang the laptop so I had to reboot. This is happening with any of the new links provided in my favourite movie forum wink.gif

I tried by updating the graphic card drivers but that didnt work. Any ideas would be appreciated :thumbsup:

Hey sreez,
I am not going to be of much help to you here unfortunately. Not sure why you have gotten no responses. I am not familiar with divx video links. Explain to me the process. You upload video and share yes? What actually plays the video. Is it their software or your choice. For example...I use VLC media player on my PC's. It play's every format practically.

The reason I ask is to determine if its your player that corrupt. Maybe you could install VLC and give it a try. Help me out here and maybe we can figure this out. We might need to move it over to the Windows XP forum. It gets more traffic.

Kind regards,

Hi t :trumpet:

Thanks for reply here. Yes I do use VLC player myself.

But to watch the movies online through buffering we can use the above kind of links and the can be played in browser itself without downloading the movie. As you said actually those links are provided by others who actually upload on the video and share to us.

And in order to watch those kind of links, depending on the format of file loaded we might need to download some plug ins or add-ons. I used to download them and they used to play.

But these days most of these kind links :flowers: will either crash my browsers or hang my system. I posted a topic in that movie forum and they suggested it might be issue with my system corrupted.

Anyways lets see if we someone comes up ideas :thumbsup:

Hello Guys,

After longgggg waiting and posting the problem at different forums. I found the answer why divx players were crashing my browser :flowers:

It was actually registry setting that messed up divx players. :trumpet: This link saved me :thumbsup:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]

"ProxyEnable"=dword:00000001

change the value to 0 using regedit .

so it shows :

"ProxyEnable"=dword:00000000

Thanks all :inlove:

Thanks for sharing your fix, and glad it works now.
