I downloaded SP2 for my Vista 64 PC and made it all the way through the installation until it got to the reboot part and step 2 of 3. Basically after it completed Step 2 of 3, my computer decided to do a CHKDSK. It seems to have found tons of problems (the only message that caught my attention was something about orphan files). My PC is working fine after the complete process but I am concerned that something happened during the install of SP2. Any clue as to why it did the CHKDSK?

You might have a dying hard drive or corrupt file system.

Do a CHKDSK yourself and see if there are any bad sectors. If there's EVEN ONE bad sector, it's time to back up your data and get a replacement drive...
