They are .iso files, yes. The 32bit version .iso is 2.74Gigs. The 64bit version .iso is 3.19Gigs.

2nd question: will my nvidia geforce 4 mx 440 se pci 64mb work ? i seen some people use old drivers made for win xp work
Windows 7 requires: - Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory (to enable the Aero theme)
It may work, but Aero will definitely not work.

3rd question: will my sb 5.1 sb0680 work ? win 7 would have gerinic drivers yer ?
Not sure about this, sorry.

4rd question:am going to try this with 512mb of ram most liky , so who else has done it with 512mb ? i seen people do that to
I have installed Windows 7 on my laptop with 512Mb of RAM and it works, but it's pretty slow.

What are the rest of your system specs? What brand and model computer do you have?

Overall I think if you get Windows 7 to install on this machine, it will not be a very good experience.
Post your system specs in your sig so we don't need to ask...

heard people run it on 64mb graphics too
gee back in the day windows didit need graphics card power lol windows 98 would run on 1 mb graphic card fine and less
and on the system requirements page
it says it needs a minuim of 20 gb hard disk space and 15 gb free
so it will take 20 gb of hard disk space JUST for windows?
wow massive
i was just planing to install it on my old computer and messing around with it but these system requirements are so huge for my old 9 year old computer lol

Like I said, it will probably run, but Aero will not work, and that's a big part of
the whole "Experience".

Not sure where you found that, but the requirements are 16 GB of available disk space.

Once it's finished, it doesn't take up that much room on the hard drive.

It needs the extra space to copy the installation files.

Btw, Windows 98 does not compare with Windows 7. lol

Bodaggit23 is right with is info here. While you might not have all the drivers (yet) remember that it's still in the RC stages and that others are having good luck using Vista drivers for most peripherals.

My basic 32bit Win7 installation with just Avast AV installed is 9.50 GB.

Normally, the installation will also create a 100 MB system reserved partition, holding space for BitLocker and Recovery Environment data.
Top 5 things that never get done:

1.

You were a Windows ME veteran as well? That's what came preinstalled on my first college computer. Remember the little "guide" guy who was like Albert Einstein mixed with Mr. Rogers?
