Everytime I try to boot into safe mode in order to run Ad-Aware and Spybot and run a virus scan, It gets to about the point where it tells me that im in safe mode and then automatically restarts without letting me do anything. The only thing I can think of is that some malware is doing this but I don't see how that is possible. I did recently get a pretty nasty infection which I have been trying to clean up for the past couple days but This safe mode thing is really hindering my efforts. Any remedies?

If you can boot into reg mode just turn off system resotre. Go and click start, click the run box, type in msconfig, then where is says BOOT.INI click safeboot, with dsrepair and you should be good to go

Thanks, Gilmour your suggestion worked. But for some reason none of my spyware removal progs will not get rid of msole32.exe. That seems to be the only active one left. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?
