Hello, my friend recently came to me with his laptop and asked me to fix it because he has been infected with several viruses. I noticed immediatly that he had no anti-virus or firewall installed. I downloaded Ad-Aware, Avast, and Zonealarm. I ran the scans, Adaware found nothing. Avast found numerous viruses and deleted them all, but the computer is still experiencing symptoms. Avast keeps telling me I have been infeted with Win32:Refpron-AG in two different files, I tell it to delete them, and then it comes right back up again. I can't get it to go away. Additionally, when I do any google search, the results redirect me to some website, not the website that I clicked on. Its not always the same website. Some other symptoms I have noticed are that the "Folder Options" item while viewing a folder is missing, so I cant view hidden files. Additionally, if I manually change this item in the registry it gets changed back by some process. Also, opening regedit has been disabled. I can manually enable registry editing by typing a registry entry I found online into Start->Run, which works for about 10 seconds before some process changes that value back to be blocked. I have found no other symptoms.

I believe the way he got infected is by clicking on one of those fake popups saying that you computer is infected with a virus, which then had him download and install some fake security software called "System Security 2009" because I see this icon on his desktop.

Attached are the logs requested. Thank you for your time.
