No matter how many times I run HijackThis, the log file remains the same. It says the scan was run 6/7/09 or something like that. The scan SEEMS to work OK, however, but I can't be sure.

What issues are you having which require the use of HijackThis? Are you trained in the use of this tool and investigation of the log HijackThis generates?

Using HijackThis requires advanced knowledge about the Windows Operating System and relies on trained experts to interpret the log entries in order to determine what needs to be fixed. If you do not have advanced knowledge about computers or training in the use of this tool, you should NOT fix anything using HijackThis without consulting a expert as to what to fix.

Hello.

HijackThis examines loading points on the computer.

Unless the computer has changed somehow, such as new programs being installed, the HijackThis log should not change.

With Regards,

But wouldn't the date and time of the last scan show a change?

Hello.

Open HijackThis. Click the "Do a system scan and save a logfile".

Does the log that opens have a new date?

(Please do not post any logs into this topic.)
