Hi berkleg and Welcome to the Bleeping Computer!

Please place HijackThis in a permanent folder,to do this.

Right Click the Desktop and Select "New">> "Folder">> Name it whatever you like!

Now locate the original Zip folder that HijackThis came in and Right Click and Selet "Extract All"

Next, download a program called LSPfix. Here's the link where to get it:

http://cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Run the program and follow these directions:

1. Run LSPFix.
2. Check 'I know what I'm doing'.
3. Select all instances of flsmngr.dll
4. Click the right-pointing arrow (moves it to the "remove" page).
5. Click 'Finished'.

Download smitRem.zip and save the file to your desktop.
Right click on the file and extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

Place a shortcut to Panda ActiveScan on your desktop.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Please read Ewido Setup Instructions
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

If you have not already installed Ad-Aware SE 1.06, follow these download and setup instructions, otherwise, check for updates:
Ad-Aware SE Setup
Don't run it yet!

Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
Now scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to each of the following items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [intel32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\System32\intel32.exe

O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

All Windows and Browsers Closed>> Click "Fix Checked"

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

Open Ad-aware and do a full scan. Remove all it finds.

Now open Ewido Security Suite
  • Click on scanner
  • Make sure the following boxes are checked before scanning:
    • Binder
    • Crypter
    • Archives
  • Click on Start Scan
  • Let the program scan the machine
While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK
Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save Report
  • Save the report to your desktop
Close Ewido

Now Locate and Delete the Following

C:\Windows\System32\flsmngr.dll<< File!

C:\WINDOWS\System32\intel32.exe<< File!

C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm<< File!

Next go to Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Website > Uncheck "Security Info" if present.

Reboot back into Windows and click the Panda ActiveScan shortcut, then do a full system scan. Make sure the autoclean box is checked!
Save the scan log and post it along with a new HijackThis Log and the Ewido Log by using Add Reply.

Really sorry for taking so long to reply

A mate of mine had a look at my PC and seems to have got rid of the virus. He used spysweeper. System seems to be running fine now.

Here's a new HJT log anyway.

One query, I cant get rid of the McAfee entries on my reg, not even in safe mode. I know I could probably delete them manually but would rather not mess with stuff I don't know much about.

(Thank you for such a quick reply last time)

Have you removed Mcafee and if so....what did you replace it with?

Its not a real good Idea to roam the Internet without an AV and a Firewall!

Thats just asking for trouble!

I've completely removed McAfee. I've got Zone Alarm with all the extras and microsoft anti-spyware running at the moment.

Those 2 are fine but you definatly need a Resident Antivirus installed!

A nice compliment to Zone Alarm is AVG7
http://www.grisoft.com/doc/40/lng/us/tpl/tpl01

or

Antivir
http://www.free-av.com/

Both free also!
