I am using Windows XP home edition ver. 2002 with service pack 3 and Firefox 3.0.11. Recently I have had considerable virus infestations, and have take the following steps at different times.
Scanned the computer with SpyWare Blaster, Trend Micro Housecall, AVG, Malwarebytes, Avast!, and Avira. Currently we are using Avira (product version 18.104.22.1683 and virus definition file 7.01.04.107). Before trying a new software, I uninstalled the old programs. Finally, I thought I had eradicated the last spyware. I now suspect I have another elusive parasite.
When starting Firefox, the startup time is very, very long. Firefox is supposed to go to Facebook.com as my wife's home page, but it begins downloading data from the following site instead: b.static.ak.fbcen.net After it finishes whatever it is doing it will finally go to Facebook.
I presume there is some malware turning the computer into a bot of some kind. What do I do next? Thanks,
