I am looking at afriends PC that will not boot to OS. It has XP home which will not boot. A driver file error appears stating:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: System32\Drivers|Ntfs.sys

When attempting to boot from recovery CD the programme only loads a few files then crashes!!

Can anyone offer any advice how I can repair this error/reload the missing drivers from initial boot or completely format the thing from scratch?
