Hi,

* Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • In case you already used MBAM previously, please update it before proceeding with the scan. To do this, click the "Update" tab and click the "Check For updates" button.
  • Once the program has loaded and updates were downloaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

O20 - AppInit_DLLs: c:\progra~1\Manson\liser.dll

I'm fairly sure this thing is a problem in some way. I honestly don't know, but I vaguely remember it sharing a name with something when I was doing my virus removing.

Hi,

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.37
Database version: 2266
Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2

Can you please update as I posted in my previous post?

In case you already used MBAM previously, please update it before proceeding with the scan. To do this, click the "Update" tab and click the "Check For updates" button.

It's now version 1.38 and database version 2304

No wonder mbam doesn't detect and remove anything if you use outdated versions. :thumbup2:

Then post the new logs in your next reply.

Let's deal with the registry leftovers now...

I see you are running AdWatch.
I suggest you disable it because it can interfere with the fixes.

To disable AdWatch:

* Right click on the Ad-Watch icon in the system tray.
* At the bottom of the screen there will be two checkable items called Active and Automatic.
o Active: This will turn Ad-Watch On\Off without closing it.
o Automatic: Suspicious activity will be blocked automatically.
* Uncheck both of those boxes.
* (When done, you can re-enable it using the same steps but this time check both boxes.)

Then,

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {D0943516-5076-4020-A3B5-AEFAF26AB263} - (no file)
O20 - AppInit_DLLs: c:\progra~1\Manson\liser.dll

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.
Make sure your Internet Explorer is closed when you click Fix Checked!

Post a new HijackThislog in your next reply.

I did not see the automatic / Active options when I clicked on the Adaware thing.

Right clicking it leads to a little menu that says

Open Adaware
Open Threatworks
Disable Adwatch Live
Run Scan
Update
Exit Adaware

I opened it up and looked around a bit and didn't see anything with those options. Anyways, here is the HJT log

The problem still presists, I tried to use Google and it redirected me three times before I cut it off prompting my antivirus to pop up a warning:

AVG Alert

Accessed file is infected

Threat Detected
File Name fimcuoj.cn/?wm=70179
Threat name: Exploit Rogue Spyware scanner

I shut out the window and hit close on the alert box. I guess I'll run a scan real fast to be safe although I'm fairly sure it will find something.

So.... not fixed yet :thumbup2:

Ok, let's have a look - I suspect the rootkit present here that locks malwarebytes detection..

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved and renamed following this process directly to your desktop**
  • If you are using Firefox, make sure that your download settings are as follows:
    • Tools->Options->Main tab
    • Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".
  • During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:

    Posted Image

    Posted Image

  • It is important you rename Combofix during the download, but not after.
  • Please do not rename Combofix to other names, but only to the one indicated.
  • Close any open browsers.
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
    • Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.

      -----------------------------------------------------------

    • Close any open browsers.
    • WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
    • Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
    • If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

  • Double click on combo-Fix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the "C:\Combo-Fix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combo-fix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**

If you still cannot get this to run, try booting into Safe Mode, and run it there.

To boot into Safe Mode, tap F8 after BIOS, and just before the Windows logo appears. A list of options will appear, select "Safe Mode."

The link only told me how to turn off part of it, I didn't know if that was the only part I needed to turn off. I did what the link said and ran the scan.

At one point it told me to write the following down:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\SKYNETcxxsiynd.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\SKYNEToqvfkdhb.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\SKYNETroevjelt.dat
C:\WINDOWS\system32\SKYNETsnpunsir.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\SKYNETmvxgmqlv.dat

Here is the resulting Combofix log:

Hi,

Ok, let's have a look - I suspect the rootkit present here that locks malwarebytes detection..

And my suspicion was correct. You were indeed dealing with this rootkit that locks its detection in malwarebytes. Malwarebytes does detect this one though, but once this one is already installed and you install mbam afterwards, it won't detect it.

Anyway.. question first..
Do you recognise the following?

wowsystemcode123
mycode1982

According to Prevx, it's malicious: http://www.prevx.com/filenames/25096642026...X1/KIS.EXE.html
Looks like a Wow hack, or maybe even a WOW keylogger. In any way, it looks fishy, so we better remove it.

* Open notepad - don't use any other texteditor than notepad or the script will fail.
Copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into notepad:

File::
c:\windows\system32\wow969_394.dll
c:\windows\system32\wow589_757.dll
Folder::
c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\97574996
c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\17565004
Driver::
wowsystemcode123
mycode1982
NetSvc::
wowsystemcode123
mycode1982

Save this as txtfile CFScript

Then drag the CFScript into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below.
