My son bought BF2 and right away we had to buy a new graphics card. The game intro starts and the screen to choose one player or online multiplayer comes up, and when he clicks on either one, it goes to a black screen, sometimes with the white arrow. You can hear the background music, but nothing else happens. Can anyone help? He registered for online playing and has a user id, etc. We have tried turning off all running processes except the necessary ones as suggested in the guide.

did you update the drivers? some times the drivers that come with the card are older than the ones that are supported... which is very rare, but still its worth a try

what exactly is your error message? Did you find it? Inorder to fix the problem you have to first find, what exactly bf2 says as error. For that you have to set full screen mode to windowed so that you can find out. I have posted the whole procedure here:

BattleField 2 - Black Screen Error

BattleField 2 - Possible Fixes

Hope my informaion would be useful.
