networking printer

hi can someone give me the idiots guide to setting up the printer to work on my network please lol. I have a desktop pc which is running xp and my daughters have a laptop which is running vista. The printer isnt the best in the world (epsom C66) and it is a pretty oldish one too but i have no idea at all how to set it up so my daughters can print directly to the printer which is connected to my desktop pc, thanx
