I was surfing the net recently and my computer started to freeze and information regarding XP Deluxe Protector started appearing. I had never heard of it until researching it and reading about it on this site. I must have clicked on something that had popped up because afterwards my computer had completely froze.
I held down the power button because even my mouse stopped working and I couldn't access the Start button to shut down. I waited a few minutes before turning my PC on, and when I did absolutely nothing is accessible.
I can get to my desktop and thatís it. I canít click on an icon, I canít open a program, all I can do is stare at my desktop. And now there is a XP Deluxe Protector icon among my desktop. Of which, again, I cannot access.
Iíve read the article that shows how to remove this rogue anti-spyware program, but I canít perform any tasks on my PC.
Iíve also started it in safe mode to see if I can do anything there, but I canít access my anti-virus software (thanks Norton) to see if I can run it.
Not sure where else to go with this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
