Hey macho_maggot and Welcome to the Bleeping Computer!!

I have seen an increase in logs like this lately...What Concerns me most is the IP Addresses in the 017s of HijackThis!

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{398546F3-6C52-4F73-9206-63919C1AE8C0}: NameServer = 101.96.209.133,202.96.209.133

I need to know the Info on ISP loaction, just general stuff, country is fine!

Then call the ISP and try to determine is those 2 ISPs are correct for you!

Now I need you to do 2 scans please and lets see what they show!!

Download Pfind:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/grinler/pfind-new.zip

Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
So make sure all those files remain in the same folder.

Don't use it yet!

Please Download the MWAV Scanner from Here

Unzip it to its predetermined Directory (C:\Kaspersky)

Locate "kavupd.exe" in the New Folder and Double Click to Update!

If you it says the signatures are more than 30 days old, keep trying!
Keep trying until you get the actual signatures!

When you see "Updates downloaded Successfully"

Please Press Enter to Continue!

It should open automatically>Leave the "Default Settings ticked" and add a "tick" "Drives">this will light up "All Drives">Click "Scan Clean" to begin!

Please dont run either of the Programs yet, just Get MWAV updated and Restart the PC in Safe Mode
Here is a link on how to boot into Safe Mode:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...src=sec_doc_nam

Doubleclick pfind.bat
It will scan for a while, so please be patient.
Wait till the doswindow closes.

Locate>> C:\pfind.txt and place the results in the next post

Now for MWAV in Safe Mode

Leave the "Default Settings ticked" and add a "tick" "Drives">this will light up "All Drives">Click "Scan Clean" to begin!

This Scan will take Several Hours or more to Complete,Depending on the Hard Drive Size!

Please be sure it is Completed before proceeding!

Once the Scan has finished,All entries Identified as Infected will displayed in the lower pane!

Highlight everything that is inside the lower pane and press Ctrl+C at the same time to Copy!

Open a Blank Notepad Page and Paste the results (Ctrl+V) to it!

Run MSCONFIG and enable everything in the startup area. To get to MSCONFIG, click on Start -> Run -> type in MSCONFIG -> click OK!

Under the "General" Tab
Make Sure Normal Startup is Checked!!

Click Apply>>OK>>Follow the Prompts to Restart!!

Restart Normal and post the results of Pfind>> MWAV and a fresh HijackThis log!

Hmmm, looks like the MWAV scan wasnt completed!

Download Pocket KillBox from here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/killbox.php
There is a Direct Download and a description of what the Program does inside this link.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Please read Ewido Setup Instructions
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Discard the old PFind folder and Download this New Version called WinPFind from here
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/winpfind.php

Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"

Don't use it yet!

Restart in Safe Mode

Open up Pocket Killbox and Copy&Paste the Entries below into the "Full Path of File to Delete"

C:\WINDOWS\NDNuninstall6_38.exe
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Connection Wizard\task32.exe

As you paste each in,place a tick next these

"Standard File Kill"
"End Explorer Shell while Killing File"

Click the Red Circle with the White X in the Middle to Delete!

Now Open up Ewido and Scan the Entire System-> Clean all it finds and make sure to click the tab to Save a Report!

From the WinPFind folder-> Doubleclick WinPFind.exe and Click "Start Scan"

It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!

The Report (WinPFind.txt) will be located in the WinPFind folder!

Restart Normal and have the PC Scanned here:
Panda Active Scan

You will need to be using Internet Explorer for the Scan to work!

Save the Report it generates

Post back with a fresh HijackThis log and the reports from WinPFnd-> Ewido and Panda!

Post moved to topic that is already open. When replying to a topic you have open please use the 'Add Reply' button and do not start a new topic, otherwise the helper will not know that you have responded to their directions and someone else will be working on your post. This creates confusion and double work for the volunteers here.

Thanks.

thank you cretemonster for your advice, i really appreciate it.

Hello,

Because Cretemonster is in hospital, he can't reply here, so I'll take a look.

Check and fix next leftover in hijackthis:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - (no file)

I can't find anything else suspicious though..
What is your main problem? Your windows firewall shutting down? Well, that is normal, because you're using Zonealarm. If you disable your zonealarm, normally you'll be able to enable your windows firewall again.

hmm thank you but could it BE a software problem? is it possible for any type of software to do this to a computer? should i check the fans withinn the computer to check if it could be a fan failure? the whole computer is shutting itself down. the firewall problem is resolved; i have zonealarm running in the background and that could conflict with Windows

thanks a ton

Yes, this could be rather a hardware problem if your system is shutting down all the time.

A good idea is to install Everest Home: http://www.lavalys.com/products/overview.php?pid=1&lang=en

This shows all the hardware info. It also shows CPU and GPU temperature, fan status....
So it's better to check it with everest first before you open your MB and check it yourself.
