I need you to do me a favor...open your HJT log in notepad, and repost your log.. Microsoft Word completely screws up the formatting, and I don't really want to make a mistake.

Thanks

That's what I'm doing. I run the program and notepad automatically open up with the log and I copy it and post to the site.

Thank you. That is soooooo much easier to read.

You have a Bube infection that is quite difficult to remove, mostly because we can't see all of the infection. I can't promise how well your system will work when we get done, but I will do my best. It is going to take a bunch of steps though.

Put a checkmark next to the following entries in HijackThis. Make sure all

Hi, Did all you said. I was able to get rid of most. I had to use killbox in safe mode for doing it. Because some wouldn't delete on there own and I've been thru this before.

The ones I wasn't able to delete were:

C:\program files\Internet Optimizer< folder
C:\Program files\ISTsvc\ folder

Here is my log:

You're doing good...

What was the message when you tried to delete those files?

I need you to download and the following file and unzip it into its old folder:
http://www.silentrunners.org/Silent%20Runners.zip

Run it, and once it generates a log, post that here please. Also, please don't use the killbox on any more files. If they were unable to be deleted, that means that some other piece of malware had ownership of them. We have no way of tracking it now. I understand that you have been through this before, but I have very different methods. :flowers:

Hey,
When I downloaded that file and tried to run it. Norton stopped it and said that it is a Malicious script. Is it safe?

It is safe. VBScripst are often used to do malicious activity, and all Norton is doing is seeing that it is a VBScript that is trying to access registry keys. It doesn't do anything other than look through your registry, similar to what HJT does.

I'm not sure this is the log, but this is what I found. A pretty fast file.

That is exactly what I wanted. It looks good. Still not quite what I wanted to see, so we wil try yet another script.

Paste the following into Notepad:
Dim Message,filesys

'get user input
Message = InputBox("Find File/Folder","Enter full path name:")

'determine if it is a file or folder
Set filesys = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")

'see if file or folder
If filesys.FileExists(Message) Then
Wscript.echo Message & " exists."
else
If filesys.FolderExists(Message) Then
Wscript.echo Message & " exists."
else

'if neither file or folder
wscript.echo Message & " does not exist"
End if
End If

Save as "find.vbs", including thw quotes. Doubleclci on it, and when the prompt opens, paste in the following: C:\Program files\ISTsvc

Let me know if it finds anything..
