I'm not sure if anyone is has had this particular problem:
So when the log on screen comes up, if I move my mouse before 10 seconds, then when I log on to Windows my mouse pointer will not move. If however, I wait 10 seconds, then everything is fine. My mouse is a Razer Lachesis mouse and previous to Windows 7 I never had a problem with Windows Vista or XP. Any help is much appreciated. By the way I do have the software for the mouse installed.

Are you using a Windows 7-specific driver for the mouse? If not, that could be the problem. If you donít have a Windows 7-specific driver handy, Iíd try using the Vista driver for the mouse.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I have installed the Vista drivers as Windows 7 drivers are not available and am still having the same problem.

What kind of mouse is it? I'll do some checking for you.

Ron, the mouse is a Razer Lachesis mouse, much appreciated.

Sneakycyber, I tried that as well but nothing changed.

did you try to uninstall it from the device manager right click on your mouse and when it asks if you would like to delete the driver software click on yes then restart your computer and see if windows will discover it if it does after all is said and done leave it alone
most of the time windows will see it as a genric pointing device if it cant find the correct drivers

Thank you for the suggestion, however this does not fix my problem as I installed the actual mouse driver to try and fix this problem (i.e. Windows did recognize this mouse before without drivers but i had the same problem so I tried installing the drivers which hasn't worked).
