open windows minimize on their own

My husband is running window xp home and starting as of yesturday any window he opens automatically minimizes it's self. Can anyone help and tell my why this is happening?

Do you mean it opens in a full window and the minimizes by itself, or it opens minimized?
Open a window and drag the borders to the monitor's edge with your mouse
Do not close the window by clicking on the X
Instead right-click on the taskbar and select Close
It should now open maximized
