Windows XP PRO SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600)
Hi
I need help and fast, within next two hours if it's possible. I'm doing something for printing and editing a film for friend, for his Academy.
I have a deadline. And I'm near brain meltdown, i've lost whole day trying to fix this.

I've installed SpeedUp MyPC and Driver scanner and did a driver backup then update. Before that i made Restore Point, and Tune Up Utillities did one automatically. There were 4 updates, for Graphics, Usb, Sound and I think Motherboard ( ATI, Nvdia).
I have backups of those still, so I can post the list.
During installation there was one error but it seemed ralated to some Thumbs.db file so I didn't really look into it (some error , zero something, sorry don't remember).
At second installation there was the prompt to restart to finish the installation after restart, that i didn't do. But the Driver scanner window said that the installation was finished,. I finished all 4 and restarted. Never got to Loggon screen, just went black, and nothing.
I've tried all kinds of Safe mode but it comes to Loggon and mouse and keyboard don't work.
Nothing does.
Reformat is not really an option.

Please help!!!!!!!!
Thanks.

Recovery Console, BIOS both work. And I have an error log if it's needed.

BTW this is the Same PC, as I didn't know where to go, and this is the emergency 2nd Windows on the same partition and now all the time as I downloaded pages or info tools I get the message that Mass downloader can't fetch a file, and this menager is on the defective Windows. What is that about?

Hello and welcome.

Can you get to safe mode?
If you can, can you get to the event viewer?
Regards,

Alan.

Just to clarify, the system boots up but you are presented with a black screen which will not allow you to get to windows?

If this is correct it sounds like a graphics problem. Are you using a card or onboard?
Regards,

Alan.

When it boots, I get the screen with three options

Windows XP PRO
Tune up Backup

and

FreeDOS

or F8 and all the options that it gives.

When I choose Windows XP Pro, it begins loading and just at the moment for Loggon screen it goes black.
When I try it in safe mode it goes to Loggon screen but mouse and keyboard don't work.

I use card.

Can you hook up the monitor to the on board graphics port on the back of the tower and try again? (enable onboard graphics in the BIOS)
Regards,

Alan.

Hello,

It is 23:48 here, and I have an early start in the morning. I hope it all worked out for you, If it didn't you can try using a BootCD/liveCD to get your files, or slave the problem drive into another system.
Regards,

Alan.
