Hello!

Please check the logs for possible infection. Take your time. I believe I disinfected the PC but I would really be glad if an expert could review the logs to confirm the disinfection.

Description:
Between 10th and 16th of April I have noticed more than 200 services.exe and svchosts.exe in the Task Manager. The number kept rising. Every second there was a new process. A fake Windows Security system 2009 also popped out. I ran Combofix and everything seemed to be OK.
Few days later all my websites I`m accessing via FTP client were infected with an iframe (it attacked index/main.htm, php, asp). I believe all my FTP password were stolen.

I have also noticed that some executables cannot be opened (90 - to be precise).
See also this: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...p;#entry1226927

I ran many anti virus/malware programs and I believe F-secure online scan and Emsisoft`s A-Squared Anti-Malware 4.0 fixed the problem.

Altough, a month later I got another Windows security system 2009 warning. Malwarebytes found sysguard.exe and deleted it.
I described the problem here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...p;#entry1249830

Three days ago I ran HostXpert and saw 10500 weird entries! Restore function didn`t work so I manually deleted host file and renamed the old one - backup, created April, 17th.

Thank you for your help!

Hi,

Is this same case as the one here?

Yes.
Very similar.
This is another PC.
I believe passwords were stolen from both of them.
I`m using both of them on different locations.

Ok, let's take a look then :thumbup2:

Kaspersky Online Scanner

Note: If you are using Windows Vista, open your browser by right-clicking on its icon and select 'Run as administrator' to perform this scan.

  • Read the requirements and privacy statement then click on the Accept button.
  • The program will launch and start to download the latest definition files.
  • You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run
  • Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:
  • Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
    Archives
  • Click on My Computer under Scan.
  • Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
  • Click on Save Report As....
  • Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button.
  • Save this report to a convenient place.
  • Copy and paste that information & a fresh dds.txt log into your topic. How's the system running.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run. As it scans your machine very deeply it could take hours to complete, Kaspersky suggests running it during a time of low activity.
If you need a tutorial, see here

Ok. Mirc related entry can be ignored assuming that you have installed the software by yourself. How's the system running?

Yes. mirc.exe is always on "infected" list. ;)
The system is running perfectly, no troubles at all!
Is there anything suspicious?

Thanks!

Well, I was checking this PC too (following the same procedures) when the other one was in the "cleaning process" so I might have cleaned this one too. :)
If it looks good, then I`m thankful for your help!

Does this thing which stole my passwords have a name? :)

You're welcome :thumbup2:

I'm afraid, it's quite difficult to give it any special name since there're quite a lot of infections that harvest passwords.
