I've tried

deleting cookies
deleting temporary internet files
clearing the ssl slate
making sure ssl 2.0, 3.0 and whatnot are enabled (or whatever)
re-registering the dll files
updating to IE 7.0 (8.0 will not install)
reseting IE 7.0
time and date on computer is fine
calling both microsoft and compaq only to find they'll help me if I pay them $60... :flowers: bleep them :trumpet:
got a new antivirus thingie
I've tried this.

I'm wondering why this would happen so suddently. It used to work fine.
After reading a bunch of things about service pack 3 I'm not sure I want it. I just want my internet to work and be able to update the quickbooks that's on my computer. Any help is greatly appreciated!

when I try to log into email, it just says page cannot be displayed. The internet works fine though.

I have a compaq presario.

Windows XP Media Center 2002 service pack 2 was installed on it when I bought it.

As far as the updates... it just tells me they have failed, not why.

Is that the info you're looking for? I'm sorry I have no idea what I'm doing.
