Hi

Why do you want to boot and install SP3? I believe you can just boot normally into windows and install SP3. Even better, just use Windows update and it'll do all the messy stuff for you.

I have the "stand alone" SP3 installer on a USB flash drive.

When I install it I always transfer ut to "My Documents" before onstalling it.

That probably isn't neccessary but I don't like installing anything directly from a flash drive.

Ditto that. Running applications from flash drives not only slows the installation down, but I also believe contributes to more 'wear and tear' on the drive itself.

All i have running atm is ubuntu, and i find virtual machines reaaaally messy.

Its a 4 dollar USB drive, so i dont really care about wear and tear.

Oh i didn't mention, its a fresh install with SP3 already slipstreamed in.
