I hope someone can help here...

My laptop keeps getting disconnected from the wireless after 5 minutes!

I have a Netgear N router and my old laptop, an ACER Aspire 1640.

While at my desk, I need to keep a cable connected to the router, when I decided to move around, I basically have 5 minutes before it drops off. Most of the time, I'm no further than 3 meters away from the wireless router!

Everybody else at home are connected by wireless and have no problems!

Any help please?

The event viewer may give some more information.

1. Click Start select run
2. Type eventvwr.exe
3. Press enter
4. Search through the groups for errors and warnings.
5. Double click on each error and or warning.
6. Locate the copy to clipboard button, Posted Image (under the two arrows)
7. Let us know what you find. (paste the results)
