Is this thing on?

I'm here because I was laid off from the oil and gas "bidness" (no I'm not Satan) I can learn and have some fun. My brain is starting to atrophy so bear with my flakey attitude. I have good personal confuser knowledge (I know sometimes I'd like to launch mine into our pond!) but there is plenty to learn. Seat of the pants learner here. Manuals give me headaches cured only by copious amounts of beer.

Just when you think you have it all figured out, you realise you've been asleep.

Reading manuals go better with Scotch.
You will find a wealth of information here, generally explained in common English (at least whenever possible), and always much shorter than a 300-page manual.

I think that sometimes we'd all like to launch our PCs into the pond, if only for the fact that we love them too much... haha.

Anyway, thanks for introducing yourself. I look forward to interacting here in the community.
