On more than one occasion in the last couple of days, while attempting to install apps that use Installshield, I get the aforementioned error message and am unable to install the program.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you seen this MS KB Article: You may receive a "1607:Unable to install InstallShield Scripting runtime" error message when you try to install software in Windows XP
