Update: fixed!

I appreciate that y'all help folks for free on here, but nonetheless got a little bit impatient looking at a possible week's waiting time, messed around a bit and what I did ended up fixing it. Hopefully sharing this info here may help others with this same issue.

After running multiple antivirus, anti-malware, and anti-spyware scans that still didn't fix it, what ended up working was running sfc\ scannow to scan and repair system files and deleting the dll file mentioned in the error message (and that folks here said looked like a malware / spyware generated dll rather than an authentic file), mswnlwkl.dll. I no longer get the error and now Firefox works just fine again.

My best guess was that it wasn't a malware that was generating the error messages, but rather one of the spyware or antivirus programs I used deleted a virus that had changed some information somewhere in the registry or a DLL file (or whatever), and that was calling on this rogue DLL file that Windows couldn't recognize. Basically a virus was removed but left behind traces that screwed with some of the system files.
