Hi

Something is using up the CPU.
Last night I checked the task manager . The CPU usage is always around the 25 to 40 % range even when there is nothing open except the task manager. I was also running Spybot last night and the CPU usage was 100%

There are no virus or spyware that I know of.

I just donít know what is wrong but the laptop is definitely not working to its full potential.

here is the Hijack file. maybe there is a problem here.

Thx

Hello padraigl and welcome to the BC forums. After reviewing your log there are no signs of viruses or malware at this time. The log is clean.

What I suggest is posting your issue in the XP forum here:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/Win...0_2003-f56.html

They are more adept at dealing with non-malware operating system and application issues. Something you can do to assist them is to check your running processes in Task Manager and letting them know the specific process that is utilizing the most CPU cycles.

Cheers.
