Hi having problems with computer for last 5 days.

Now the only way to get the destop to show is either in safemode or regular startup to get into windows task manager and start contol panel as an application. then the desktop shows.

When I try to run malwarebytes it shows as running underapplications and for a short time in processes but I actually see the program interface.

I tried renaming the mbam.exe and running it but I only got error messages so I changes the name back.

I have ccleaner which seems to run when starting through contoll panel.

Spybot which doesnt seem to run.

I ran bitdefender online and it helped for a while.

Avg 8.5 is my antivirus the company I work for put it on all the computers. we had avg 7 before.

We all own our own computers so help is far and between at times.

Adware is hit and miss right now.

I also installed hijackthis and followed the instructions to remove a rouge security progam which i think was successful.

Hello there jacks50, welcome to Bleeping Computer.

Please try a couple of these free online scanners to see if anything has slipped by your protection:
(Be advised that some of these scanners will pickup things in "quarantine" from other anti-virus programs - so review the results carefully)

http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner Scan Only - no removal

If you find that you're infected (or the scan doesn't complete or closes unexpectedly), post in the Am I Infected forum located here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/

So before malwarebytes will start I need to clean what ever is blocking it?
