Recently downloaded a photo from the net and tried using it for my desktop wallpaper. Somehow, someway, the thing came on my desktop but it didn't replace the previous picture. The new picture sort of acts like a curtain which can be pulled off to the side like a curtain covering or uncovering the previous picture. I can change a picture but only the old picture behind it. How do I get rid of that sucker?

Try this. Right click on desktop, Properties, and choose dark black as a color. Click okay and see if that is what you get. If you get what you ask for that is good. Run all the anti programs that this site recommend. There are some wall papers, (desk top pictures) that you might down load have bad things in them. Also check if your home page has change; that is another thing that might happen. All wall paper are not equal. Keep this in mind; a fancy desk top also uses up a lot of computer resources.
