Well I have been reading other posts and trying some of the options listed. It is a little better. Seems to freeze up if left at idle for a bit. And crashes when watching any tpe of video online. Youtube..etc.
I am also running alot of processes at start up. Is anyway to permanently delete some?
I will update Log just in case there is anything new. Thanks in advance.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Hi knotslippin,

There doesn't seem to be any malware on the logs.

However, just one thing before we start checking.

I do not recommend that you have more than one anti virus product installed and running on your computer at a time. The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, then those products which do not encrypt the virus strings within them can cause other anti virus products to cause "false alarms". It can also lead to a clash as both products fight for access to files which are opened again this is the resident/automatic protection. In general terms, the two programs may conflict and cause:
1) False Alarms: When the anti virus software tells you that your PC has a virus when it actually doesn't.
2) System Performance Problems: Your system may lock up due to both products attempting to access the same file at the same time.
Therefore please go to add/remove in the control panel and remove either AVG or Avast.

Just to check

We need to scan for Rootkits with GMER
  • Please download GMER from one of the following locations, and save it to your desktop:
    • Main Mirror
This version will download a randomly named file (Recommended)
    • Zip Mirror
This version will download a zip file you will need to extract first. If you use this mirror, please extract the zip file to your desktop.
  • Close any and all open programs, as this process may crash your computer.
  • Double click Posted Image or Posted Image on your desktop.
  • Allow the gmer.sys driver to load if asked.
  • You may see this window. If you do, click No.
    Posted Image
  • Click on Posted Image and wait for the scan to finish.
  • If you see a rootkit warning window, click OK.
  • Push Posted Image and save the logfile to your desktop.
  • Copy and Paste the contents of that file in your next post.

The malware may have damaged system files so run this tool next

Please download sreng2.zip and save it to your Desktop.
  • Create a new folder on your hard drive called Sreng2 (C:\Sreng2) and extract (unzip) the file there. (click here if you're not sure how to do this. Vista users refer to this link.)
  • Open the folder and double-click on SREngLdr.EXE to launch it.
  • Select System Repair from the left pane.
  • Click on Windows Shell/IE.
  • Put a check mark in the box next to Enable using Folder Options
  • Click Repair.
  • The Status should now show Ok.
  • Exit SREng and reboot the computer.
If this doesn't fix the problem I need you to provide me with the BSOD details.
  • When you boot your machine, press F8 to list the startup options, exactly as you would if you were trying to enter Safe Mode
  • Select "Disable Automatic Restart on System Failure", as shown here:
    Posted Image
  • When your system BSODs, write down the STOP error code, as well as any written out error message back here. The STOP error will always appear, but the message may not. You are looking for this:
    Posted Image
Please also copy and paste the attach.txt file which you weren't able to attach as a zip file.

Let's see what we can find out. :thumbup2:

Hi knotslippin,

Thanks for the Gmer log but I am still waiting for the confirmation of SREng being run, the BSOD result and the DDS attach.txt log.

Please contact me or reply otherwise I will close the topic as inactive.

Thanks.

The attach zip is in my last post. I ran the sreng and the BSOD showed SPTD.SYS 0x0000007E

This is a driver issue.

The BSOD is stating that either the driver is bad or faulty or you have bad RAM.

Let's test the RAM first. I may have to refer you to another forum if this becomes a hardware issue.

Click here to run a memory test program. This takes several hours so you should carry out the test overnight.

Let me know the results. :thumbup2:
