For the past three months I've been routinely infected with viruses. It started with Vundo and a bunch of others which disabled my Windows automatic updates. I finally cleaned it all up (with much help) but it seems like my browser is routinely hijacked and I have another virus. Is this a leftover or just something I'm going to have to get used to?

I use Windows XP, have a subscription to ZoneAlarm for firewall, AV & AS. I only use Mozilla Firefox v3.0.10 and the browser hijacks occur only when I use Facebook. This last time the browser hijack was telling me I had a virus on my computer and redirected me to another web page (similar to last month). I ran ZoneAlarm and no virus or spyware were found. I ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and it found Malware.Trace and deleted a Registry Key referencing AVSCAN. Subsequent scans came up clean.

Here is my DDS Log. Thank you in advance for any help. Please feel free to contact me with questions especially if I haven't given enough info.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results, click no to the Optional_Scan
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet. You can find information on A/V control HERE
