DELL LAPTOP. XP HOME. 30G FREE SPACE. IT BEGAN WITH MY NOT BEING ABLE TO USE ANY OF MY RESTORE POINTS. THEN ALL THE RESTORE POINTS DISAPPEARED. NOW I CAN'T EVEN ADD ONE MANUALLY. ALSO, COMP ACTS AS IF I HAVE MALWARE BUT I CAN'T FIND ANY. I HAVE USED AVAST PRO, SUPERANTISPYWARE, MALWAREBYTES, TO NO AVAIL. COMP HAS SLOWED TO A CRAWL AND I HAVE A HECK OF A TIME DOING ANYTHING ON IT. (WEBSITES
GET DROPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF SOMETHING, SOME SITES WON'T OPEN, EVEN IF COMP SHOWS GOOD INTERNET CONNECTION.) ALSO, CPU USAGE RUNS BELOW 4%. ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS, BOYD.

Y&our best bet is to try to get your pictures/music/personal files off of it & do a clean install.
Once a OS gets messed up to a certain point it's easier to reinstall then trying to fix.

I recommend buying an external drive to move all your pictures to before reinstalling. They're pretty cheap these days.
