Complete loss of XP Sound

A few weeks ago I downloaded/updated my Drivers,Stupidly I also updated the Audio drivers since then
I have had a complete loss of XP Sound,whilst all other sound remains intact.My computer is a DELL 4600.
I have tried a few hints here and there but nothing seems to work.Can anybody help?

Have you uninstalled the drivers you previously installed...and then reinstalled those which worked properly?


There are 4 different sets of audio drivers there...you need to install the correct set if you want the system to perform properly.
