Not a valid windows image

I have been getting all kinds of messages: "not a valid windows image", "item you have selected is unavailable", 'not enough quota to process this command". System currently unusable and I would hate to reformat and reinstall.

Thanks in advance for some pointers.

Well, what are you doing exactly when you get these messages?
