My computer started acting strange a few hours ago. When ever I would click something, multiple things would be selected. Also when I tried to scroll with my mouse, it would flip through the pages I already visited. I scanned my computer with my Norton AntiVirus program and also scanned it for malicious software. I also scanned for Microsoft Updates, but nothing came up on any of them. However, just a few minutes ago, everything seemed like it went back to normal. What could have gone wrong for that short period of time?

It's possible that your shift key got stuck. Given that, your symptoms are explained perfectly
