Well my AC adaptor for my Dell laptop ( Inspiron 1520) quit on me. I called Dell and they are sending me a new one.

This is my second Dell laptop with the AC adaptor failing on me.

My first laptop which was destroyed in a fire (Dell Inspiron E1505) the charger went out on me just a month before. (see my profile info)

I had both computers for about a year.

So...has anyone had any problems with their Dell AC laptop adaptor? So far i am two for two on them giving out on me after just one year.

I hope that my next laptop i get is going to meet the same fate.

Wasn't an electrical fire was it?
What I'm trying to say is to have an electrician check the wiring in your house
Variations with the input voltage could affect the life of the adapter

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

My Apt fire was not realated to the comptuer. Someone decided they wanted to toss a lit ciggerette into a pile of leaves and pine needles.

I dont think that there is a change in voltage where i am at. I use it mainly at college, can a building that size play a role?

I use the same outlet at home, directly to the wall socket, not a power strip.
