I had to do a windows repair because I lost(?) the svchost services. The repair gave me back svchost services but left me with SP1. After the install I updated XP with about 55 updates SP2 was not one of them. I first noticed I had SP1 when my firewall, ZONE ALARM, would not load. Apparently it needs SP2. I tried to install SP2 from the windows update site but it gets to "checking necessary space" - "running processes before install" and stops. I have ran windows repair in the past and reinstalled SP2 with no problem. I have 16.4GB free on the HD. Any ideas. I tried to install it in safe mode and had the same problem.
